This course is a skills-based evaluation that tests a student’s ability to understand a sugya.

For the final exam the student will be given a short sugya (of medium-level difficulty) in the exam, accompanied by selections from various Rishonim and Achronim. After studying the sugya with the selected mefarshim, students are expected to answer questions that require an understanding of the logical arguments in the Talmudic discussion, and explain the various conclusions drawn from the debate. The ability to read Rashi script is required.
