This exam requires an understanding of about 5 dapim of Gemara text with
a limited number of questions on assigned Rashis. Students will be asked to
translate typical terms used in the Gemara, and are expected to be familiar
with basic vocabulary terms, as well as commonly used expressions, rules,
acronyms, and patterns. Students should also know general information
relating to the study of Gemara, such as the structure of the daf gemara and
the history of the Mishnah and Gemara, based on a summary provided in
the study guide. The ability to read Rashi script is required.
